What data we collect
- Browsing data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, date and time. These are collected automatically by the systems that run the website and are used only in aggregate form or for website security.
- Data sent through contact forms: name, phone number, email address, service of interest, subject and text of the message.
- Newsletter subscription: email address.
- Direct contact: the data you give us when you call us, message us on WhatsApp or email us.
Please do not enter unnecessary data in the forms. Information about your pet’s health is used only to reply to your request.
Why we process data and on what legal basis
- Replying to your requests for information or appointments – legal basis: pre-contractual measures taken at your request (Art. 6.1.b GDPR).
- Sending you the newsletter from the clinic – legal basis: your consent (Art. 6.1.a), which you can withdraw at any time using the link in every email or by writing to us.
- Ensuring the operation and security of the website and producing visitor statistics in aggregate form – legal basis: legitimate interest of the Controller (Art. 6.1.f).
- Complying with legal obligations and, where necessary, defending our rights in court (Art. 6.1.c and 6.1.f).
How and where data is processed
Data is processed electronically by authorised clinic staff and by suppliers acting as data processors, including:
- Aruba S.p.A. (Italy) – website hosting and email services;
- Google – the Gmail mailbox from which you receive our replies and the Google Maps map embedded on the Contact page;
- iubenda – cookie consent management;
- Metricool – website visitor statistics;
- any newsletter sending platform.
Some of these suppliers may also process data outside the European Union: in this case the transfer is based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (e.g. the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or on standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
- Requests sent through the forms: for the time needed to handle the request and in any case no longer than 24 months, unless it leads to veterinary treatment (in which case the retention periods for clinical and tax records apply).
- Newsletter: until consent is withdrawn.
- Browsing data: for the time technically necessary and in line with the hosting provider’s retention periods.
Your rights
You can at any time request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest (Arts. 15–22 GDPR). If you have given consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out. To exercise your rights, write to info@villadisomma.it or to the PEC address shown above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
Cookies
The website uses technical cookies necessary for it to work and, only with your consent, third-party cookies (for example for statistics and embedded content). You can choose which cookies to accept from the banner shown on your first visit and change your choice at any time using the cookie preferences button at the bottom of the website pages.
Providing data
Providing the data requested in the forms is optional, but without it we cannot reply to your request. For veterinary emergencies, do not write to us: come straight to the clinic, we are open 24 hours a day.
